Dick,
The problem I'm having is , I bought a set of roller rockers and upon
installing them I checked to see if they are centered on the valve stem when
run through a cycle and they are centered at the beginning of a cycle then
move about .070 " out away from the rocker shaft. I'm trying to get the
contact patch of the roller tip perfectly centered on the valve stem. My
original thought was to raise the rocker pedestals , thereby bringing the
area of contact in towards the center but having thought about it that
won't work. It seems this contact patch really isn't adjustable without
pulling the rocker pedestals back away from the valve. I've checked the slop
in the pedestals and there is some but not enough for perfect centering. I'm
beginning to think that getting them right on will take fabricating some new
pedestals or machining the ones I have . I'm also thinking the length of the
pushrods will have no effect on contact patch as well.
