Not to disagree with an old mechanic, but old engine oil will be full of
particles that will just wear out the shock even faster. There are good
firms doing rebuilds (Apply Hydraulics is one I've heard of) for not tto
much money. I'm not big on playing games with shocks and brakes since the
failure of same can cause serious problems.

Cheers,

Hi,
does anyone have experience with "refilling" the rear levertype shocks ?
Mine are worn and my mechanic told me that I should try filling up with old
engine oil. If they don't leak the shocks should be back up to the task.
Did anyone try this and with what type of oil ?
Rgds
Bert
