A number of years ago, when I purchased my TR6, I got a whole bunch of
spares as well. One of the items was a rear differential. I thought I
would
sell it as it was taking up space in my garage! I don't like to sell stuff
that might be broken, damaged or rough looking, unless it is stressed that
the item has a problem and is accepted as that. So making a long story
short, I took this spare rear and did everything you said as well as new
oil
seals and a paint job.
I had it on my work bench waiting for a buyer, when one day I was out
driving and my rear gave up. I huge piece of gear wheel separated and
jammed
the system. I already assumed the worse! Guess what's it the car now! On
the
road in 30 minutes or less........!!!!!
