With todays mention of Stromberg carb rebuilding I'd like to relate a recent
experience with one of our advertisers in the 6Pack magazine. Many of you
already know of Gary Martin and the excellent work he does. (I have no
financial interest in this mention)
Although I'm currently running a set of SU HS6 carbs on my '69 TR6 I plan to
reinstall the Strombergs as part of the frame off restoration beginning next
winter. I sent my Stromberg carbs (fixed needles and jets) to Gary Martin
for rebuilding a few weeks ago. I was amazed and astounded at the look and
feel of the carbs when I got them back. Everything was replaced that
could/should be. The dashpot tops were polished to a mirror finish and the
carb bodies were bead blasted to a beautiful finish. Other parts were
replated or replaced as new. I can only believe that the carbs will perform
as good as they look.
