Cliff/John;
I spoke with Leighton at British Parts Northwest today. They carry CMPM pistons
with Deves rings. Leighton thinks they're the best. CMPM (I know nothing about
them not can I find a website for them) makes the pistons that AE has stopped
making. So, they supply pistons, timing ears and a host of other parts for Brit
cars. CMPM is a UK firm. Not sure if their is any relationship there to Country
or not. BPNW sells them for $230 a set, unless maybe you "negotiate."
Meanwhile TRF has a few Hepolites in stock sold by the EACH at about $55 each
(less 10% to TRF Club members). Seems like Hepolites might be the way to go,
though they're about $70 a set more. After all the $ I've put in, what's $70?
'Course, APT carries them in their *own* price range!

I purchased a set of County brand pistons for my TR6 last month from
British Parts Auto. Four pistons weighed in at 260 grams, the other two
at 258 grams. My old Hepolite pistons are 246 grams. I wish I had spent
a bit more for the Helpolite's.
