Lower Trunions

Question to all regarding the oil used in the lower trunnions. A quote from a 
recent e-mail "If nothing else, I'm sure someone will mention that it's 
supposed to be filled with 90 weight oil rather than grease." 
For what reason then are there grease nipples affixed to the end of these? I 
cannot see trying to pump 90W oil into these with a grease gun! Anybody?
