Folks,
I recently acquired a new Girling brake master
cylinder to replace my troublesome cheap repro m/c
installed by the PO.
The reservoir on the new m/c has about an 1/8" of a
brown cosmolene-like grease in it, some of which I
assume has intentionally made its way into the
cylinder itself.
Question: after cleaning out the reservoir, is a bit
of bench bleeding with regular fluid (Castrol GT LMA)
sufficient to "clean" this grease from the
cylinder/piston before mounting it on the car?
Thanks,
William
