Hi Lionel,

The "methods" of pulling a TR6 head from the block are well documented.
The only solutions are patience, lots of rust penetrant, some persuasion
and (likely) some cussing.

You just documented the 2x4 solution. Others include the "rope trick", the
chaninfall (a modified version of your description), and compressed
fluids. They all will work eventually. Just make sure the studs aren't
bent too badly and it will come off eventually.

In my experience, the most stubborn studs are the ones on the manifold
side, as they are exposed to the elements and tend to get a bit more
rusty.

FWIW, I have one engine in the garage that I started trying to seperate
about 4 years ago. It's still in one piece. I'm trying hydraulics next!
