A couple of weekends ago I decided to grease my 1974 TR6 and I ended up
with a couple of questions:
1. the manual says to grease the water pump...I can't find a sealing plug
to remove so that I could grease the darn thing? Did some pumps not come
with a area to add grease to it (I can't image, but...). Any thoughts on
this? Could I have a wrong water pump? Mine has an extra fan belt disc on
the outer area of where the "regular" fan belt is located. It seems like it
could be for the 1975-76 cars that had "air Injection System". Does that
make sense?
2. same thing with the rear Drive Shafts - I couldn't fine the nipples to
grease them. Am I just not looking hard enough...did I bang my head too
many times while under the car?
3. I had a hard time getting the grease gun nozzle to fit the nipple on the
outer universal joint? Any suggestions?
When greasing everything else, it was right where the book said it would
be. As I said, maybe I just hit my head way too much while being under the car!
I know some of this seems "dumb" but remember you are talking to a novice.
I love this car and I am willing to learn; I just need a little show and
tell once in a while!!
Thanks for the help in advance.
Cheers, Jon
