Well, for a street driven car, just do the normal check to make sure
there's no excessive play in the rear wheel bearings. That should be
plenty.

When you have the hubs apart for replacing the bearings, then you should
crack test the axle stubs and the outer flanges. If you are really
paranoid (or you drive really fast) you might consider getting the parts
x-rayed...

You'll almost always find cracks, the question is - "where" and "how bad".
If you don't know what this means, you should turn this work over to a
certified professional.

Rant mode - this is why I religiously refer folks to rebuild TR6 hubs from
places that know what they are doing!!!!! Pay attention to the advice.
