I agree Peter. One of the valuable things about these lists is learning about
people's experience with various products and services. I want to hear both
the good and the bad.
The only concern I have is that people sometimes resort to hyperbole rather
than sticking with the facts. I was unintentionally guilty of this once and
actually received a phone call from the supplier. Apparently two people from
the list had called him up alarmed about the bad parts he was selling and gave
me as a reference. Unfortunately, I had asked a question about the parts in
such a way that it sounded like they were bad when in fact, I just didn't know
how they worked. The supplier corrected me, and I apologized profusely both to
him and to the list.
The lesson is that these lists have awesome power and we have to be careful to
use it wisely.
