Listers, I need someones help who has experience with removing the pistons
from front brake calipers.
The car has recently been painted and I am now in the process of putting all
the bits back on. To hopefully preserve the paint job under the hood, I
decided to switch to silicone fluid for brakes & clutch. It has been highly
recommended by just about everyone I talked to replace all the old seals in
the two systems with new ones.
Replacing the seals in the front brake calipers is the last job in this
process. I have followed the instructions in my Haynes manual and so far no
problems, until I get to the part that says "remove pistons". There are now
two calipers sitting on my work bench and I have no clue as to how to remove
the pistons. Trying to pry them out with a screwdriver will likely only lead
to damage. This is the first time this job has been done on the car.
Any suggestions will be appreciated...........
