Peter---The key should come out by rapping it good with a brass punch and a hammer. Try to hit up on it, as you knock it back. A properly shaped crow-type bar could also be used from the back, forward. A little WD-40 helps grease the way for this D-shaped key. You could also try locking on a large pair of Vise Grips, and levering from underneath one jaw. Protect the crankshaft, or polish it afterward. Dick |
