Cam retainer and crankshaft shims

Bob and Dick- thanks for the input.  I spent a couple of hours today honing
the retainer plate on a diamond whetstone.  After I took off about .007",
the cam spins fine and I have about .003" of endplay.

Now, since I used the thicker front plate gasket, I have to shim out the
crank sprocket by about 0.015".  I've got the sprocket off, but how do I get
that blasted key-way out?
