I'm agree with you about the MC having a bias toward the front braking
system - just compare the size of the front system brake fluid reservoir
compared to the reservoir for the rear system. However, the size of the
wheel cylinders, shoes and drums also come into play. Also, the Triumph
rear drum brakes aren't the Bendix "Duo-Servo" brakes that were so common on
American cars. The TR brakes have only single action wheel cylinders, so
they lack some of the effectiveness of the Duo-Servo brakes which have the
double-ended wheel cylinders.
