Jerry---If you take the tranny out and the fork pin isn't broken, look
over the area where the T/O bearing carrier rides on the front cover.
These two surfaces need to be smooth and lubricated, so the clutch will
engage without jerking. It's also a good time to replace the end
bearings for the cross shaft in the the bell housing, if they're chewed
up. Put two on both sides, for longer bearing life. The last time (years
ago) that my clutch was sticking as yours is, the ONLY thing I did was
to lube these areas, as the rest of the clutch system had relatively few
miles.
