Hello listers,
Working on my cars brings me great therapy especially during these sad
times. Hope you all don't mind a question. I recently installed a
Falcon stainless muffler system and stated that it fitted up quite
nicely. After getting my replacment ZS carbs on and getting the car
started I noticed that the pipe joints are leaking a bit. I have
retightened the new clamps but still get leaks. Is this something that
should go together without welding the seams? I hate to have the local
muffler guy get his torch out and start welding away (aka butcher) on a
very pretty system. Anyone install one without welding the seams?
Another question. My ZS carbs, well at least one is back firing just
slightly on hard acceleration of the throttle. This never happened with
the old set of carbs so I am assuming that ignition, timing, etc. is
good. Is this possibly a diaphragm or something easy? I know, I need
to buy the Haynes carb book on these carbs. Its on order.
Thanks! And God Bless to all who have suffered during this horrific
tragedy.
