Mitch,
Have you backed the adjusting nuts out on each rocker arm prior to trying to
tighten the rocker assembly down? If the nuts are at the same location they
had been prior to the head work, this could be your problem.

But i think they're about 1/8" shorter and i have a feeling thats not
enough,
i;ll see tomorrow. He said i could make shims from shim stock if i need to
for
bneath the pedestals just make sure and have an oil hole for the rear
pedestal
shim drilled.
The main question is why would i need shorter pushrods? I talked to quite a
few guys about this beforehand trying to be prepared and was told this
wasn't
needed.
