As I mentioned in a prior email, I am rebuilding the wiper unit on my
TR250. The reason I started this job was because the motor had quit
working. Now that I have everything cleaned and painted, the motor still
doesn't work.
I have used Dan Masters manual to trouble shoot and I think that my
problem is in the motor itself. To test the motor I connected the green
wire on the motor to the pos side of my battery. The motor chassis was
grounded to the neg. I then grounded the red and brown wires in turn and
got nothing but a few sparks. A continuity test revealed that all 3
wires are continuous with one another. The brushes and commutator rings
look good.
There are only 2 parts that I don't know how to test. They are the
armature and the assembly that generates the electromagnetic field. Any
ideas on how to test these or which part most commonly goes bad?
Gary, did you have to do any fixing on your motor, or was it running OK.
Dan, any ideas?
TIA,
Peter
