Hi all,
a few days back, I finally got the old rounded-off plug out of my gearbox.
The vise grips with a long pipe for extra leverage did the trick. Anyway, my
replacements came from Moss. On the drain plug, the new one goes in about
halfway and then becomes very difficult to tighten, even with a long wrench.
I'm afraid to force it in, but it's not up tight against the housing. Same
deal with the filler plug. The threads match, but they are a little bigger
(more threads) than original. Any thoughts? Also, should I apply anti-seize
on the new ones?
Thanks all,
