Mark---These drain or fill plugs have a tapered thread. When they're
tight, stop turning, no matter how much thread is still showing. It
shouldn't be necessary to use anti-seize on this plug, but wouldn't
hurt if you did. A winding of Teflon pipe tape on the threads will make
it easier to loosen, and usually provide a better seal against oil
seepage. If it feels that the threads in the casing may have been
damaged from the plug that you removed, you may want to chase the
threads with a pipe tap.
