Bob,
I had little success with mine also, until I took it completely apart,
lightly greased the adjustment bolt to free up some of the corrosion,
cleaned up the gunk inside, etc., etc.
Then I asked my wife to adjust it for me while I sat in the driver's seat,
and when it was right, tighten the adjusting screw down. You should have a
considerable amount of pivot in the lens with the bolt loose.
Long story short, I was able to get it to work, but it took some time.
Sounds like yours is brand new, so my experience with it may not help, but
at least I can attest to it serving its purpose on my car. I'm hoping one of
the more experienced listers has some magic formula I don't know about to
help you...

Subject: passenger side mirror visabiltiy
Listeners: Here is a simple one: Should the driver be able to see out of
the passenger side bullet mirror? I installed the usual bullet stlye mirror
on the passenger side, thinking I could see out of it as in the case of
today's cars. Wrong. Even though I matched the spacing and position of the
driver's mirror, for the life of me I cannot adjust it so that it is useful
to me when I drive the car. Is it only for your copilot to use? I am
stumped....if it only serves the passenger or is more cosmetic than
anything
else, I probably would not have mounted it. Thoughts?
