        Yes Bob, I did remove the switch and all those little black plastic
vacuum lines. That was in 1975-76 and originality wasn't a concern to me
then (or now for that matter). If you choose to remove the mess from
your car, be sure to properly blank off the carb, intake manifold and
distributor connections to eliminate any vacuum leaks. This is very
important, as failure to do so may result in a high and erratic idle.
        The a/c issue is one of personal choice. Some folks like it, some hate
it. If you want to remove yours, I'm in the market.
