Malcom, I always split my MG calipers when I rebuild them, MGAs and MGBs. It is fairly impossible to install the new rubber and metal retainer parts unless you split the calipers. I rebolt them back up again by using new grade 8 bolts, and new caliper sealing washers (available from Shadetreemotors). I use blue Locktite on the threads and touque the new grade 8s to whatever the recomended touque is for grade 8s of that diameter. Never ever have had a problem. Rod Schweiger Ignorance is Bliss, |
