| thought I would add something to this thread...
I drive an automatic Toyota PU on the street and never left foot brake unless
I'm trying to take a corner faster then normal for some reason.
But when I get into my race car (ITA RX7) or autocross car (69 Europa) I
immediately start heel and toeing for downshifts and then left foot brake
through the corners to keep the suspension where i want it. My left foot goes
back and forth easily between the brake and clutch without even thinking
about it... However... I do remember one time when going down the straight
and shifting from 3rd to 4th, I was distracted by a passer in my mirror and
didn't move my foot...he must have been surprised how fast he got by me when
I went to shift and my left foot went down hard on the brake.. the gear box
made funnier noises then usual... But its still working.... Gene
