Hi Brian,

I "locked" my distributor, i.e., eliminated the mechanical advance feature
(didn't have vacuum advance) out of necessity.  My distributor broke during a
race so I fixed it by locking the plates together.  Works great with no
problems.  It actually runs better!  I run about 32° total advance.  It starts
easy as long as the battery has a decent charge.  Its on a Spitfire 1500.
