Dear all;

I'm astonishingly close to getting my dear old '71 2500 back on the road
(you've heard that one before... ). In fact, rumor has it that this coming
weekend will include the momentous occasion: operation of said TVR under
its own power on a paved surface not including my driveway. This means I'm
down to those final 2 or 3% of the myriad bits, pieces, and details of a
restoration. I have two questions today:

---Its pretty clear to me that the standard TR6 temperature sending unit is
not matched with the AC temp gauge in my TVR. I naively purchased the TR6
unit and installed it. The old unit was dead. The gauge now reads some
20F hotter than a temp gun reading at the thermostat housing (that is, 190+
as opposed to about 170). I'm guessing that the car is NOT running hot but
that the sending unit is mismatched with the gauge. The car shows no other
symptoms of running hot. Any experience on this one? What is the proper
source/spec for a sending unit that matches the AC temp gauge? Where can I
get one? Its unnerving to see the temp gauge pegged all the time!!!

---Is the emergency brake cable system TVR specific or was it sourced from
some other car?

cheers,
Will Zehring
