Rolf,
I have the Autolite/Ford distributor also. If you stay with points try
Accel points. I get mine from Pegasus part No. 168-09. They are pricey at
$25.99 each, but they last me a couple of seasons (at least 5000 miles).
When I change them it isn't because they are causing problems, I just
figure I should. I tried Lucas points but they would snap the ends off
within one summer of driving.

good luck

I saw that car when it first arrived in New York it was in Gerry Sagermans
place in Huntington LI .
And I distinctly asked him if it was going to stay in the US and he said
with a smile) no it isn't legal for the states. My my did he fib??

Any way I need some help from the net. I want to replace my points with
electronic ignition. Dave Bean has a Lumenition kit but it only fits the
Lucas distributor ( 1600GT Motor) and not the Ford distributor that I
have.
They want $299 for just the Lucas distributor.
So my options are:
1. Suffer through the old points. $299 +99 for the electronics is a bit
stiff for me just to eliminate the points.
2. Try Petronics, any one herd of them? They seem to have some sort of kit
for the Fords
3. Try to get a Lucas 43D distributor from one of the wonderful web
members
4. Or I am open to member suggestions.

I am also looking for a starter Top solenoid mount. any suggested sources.
