I've had the painted Moss MWS wheels on my TR4A for about 10 years and
16,000 miles. I have had zero issues with them. They're tubeless and I
keep waiting for them to start leaking but they never have. I had a
second set of tires mounted last year and haven't had a problem with
balancing at my local tire shop.

> they have been no end of difficulty.
>
>=C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 Balancing- Most tire shops say they =
can balance wire wheels, but
> they can?t.=C2=A0 Over time it?s been hit and miss as to whether I can=
get the
> wheels properly balanced.=C2=A0 Last year I got balancing cones form M=
oss that
> largely eliminated that issue. The resin cones I got were not in the M=
oss
> catalog and were much cheaper than the steel set listed in the Moss ca=
talog.
>
>=C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 Quality of the wheels themselves- I =
don?t do much spirited
> driving, but I?ve had difficulty with the hubs of the Dayton wheels I =
have
> wearing out to the point that there is an audible clunk when starting =
from
> the play in the wheel hubs. This issue is much more pronounced on the =
rear
> drive wheels. I?ve also had issues with the durability of the wheels<b=
r>
> finish. This is on a car that is fair weather driver. As I?ve said, th=
ese
> wheels are about 25 years old and have about 40,000 miles on them.
>
>=C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 At this point I need to replace at l=
east 2 of the wheels.=C2=A0 When I
> called Dayton they told me that, while chrome wires were in stock, the=
y
> only special order painted wire wheels and the process takes about 4-6=
> weeks. They also said that the charge for chrome wires and painted wir=
es
> are the same.=C2=A0 Moss sells MWS wire wheels, which I?m guessing is =
a new name
> for the Dunlap wires they previously sold.
>
>=C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 My questions are, are others having =
the same issue with their
> wire wheels, and are folks using the MWS wheels from Moss having
> better(good) luck with their wires?
+1 on Alan Hendrix.

No experience with the wheels sold by Moss ? sorry.=C2=A0 And I recently ha=
d a very bad experience ordering wheels from Rimmers in the UK.

Bear in mind that wire wheels are heavier than the alternatives ? racers ra=
rely, if ever, use them.=C2=A0 But don?t they look great ?
