 Can't help with rest, but this one I have personal experience with. 
Same thing happened to me even
after hot tanking. I used a scribe and a section of solid core copper 
wire to carve out the fossilized
sediment and blew out the residue with my compressor before the block 
was assembled. Worked
for me!
