What is a good choice for the gasket atop the glass bowl of the fuel
filter? Moss & VB don't seem to offer replacements. It's easy enough
to make one, but I have seen both cork & rubber on there.

After cleaning mine out I couldn't get it to seal again -- I think the
rubber gasket was just too deformed. I noticed that the bowl does not
seat well... the face of the fuel pump housing that it seals against
seems to be other than flat (bowed slightly front to back). I looked at
my spare (which has a badly deformed cork gasket) and saw the same
bowing. Am I guilty of over-tightening these suckers? Had to believe I
could bend that casting with just a thumb screw (never use a wrench,
etc) . TIA
