Stainless hardware sometimes has a marking that shows what type of stainless
it is but usually it doesn't. There aren't any uniform marking codes for
stainless as far as I know. For this application don't use anything less
than SAE Grade 8. There is stainless steel that surpasses this but you'll
never find it at the local hardware store.

FYI - I've found that Lowe's home improvement stores carry Grade 8 hardware
but it's not stainless steel of course. It's good to know, especially if
you've got the TR torn apart at 8pm and find you need a fastener for some
vital suspension component... For some reason, Home Depot stopped carrying
grade 8 (at least in my area).
