Thank you to all those who responded to my plea. I have not fully
investigated or followed up all of the advice as yet. However, in summary,
the following was suggested:
Check all pipes, joints, clamps including filler neck.
Check tank for rot resulting from vibration pads holding moisture.
Check breather exits trunk.
Check sender unit seal and finally,
TR6 trunks always smell of petrol.
So far I have stripped all trim, spare etc out of trunk and still found no
leaks. Next - Friday off work for a more thorough search.
