IMHO this is a typical sign for  a worn out starter. Lubricating it
doesn't help at all. I fyou disassemble it you will find wear on both
rotor and stator and the bearings will be worn out as well. What you can
do is have it turned down in a lathe and replace the bearings. or get an
exchange.
