Stu is correct. The Fiesta was only imported for a short period beginning in
1978.
That success with German engineering prompted Ford to come out with the Merkur,
all in all a nice vehicle. Oops, divergence. The model years 78-80 is what you
want. I was under the impression that Bosch alternators were on these cars. Why
do they want to sell a non-Bosch unit?  And, why not forget the Bosch/Fiesta 
unit
and get a Delco for about the same money? The VTR maintenance pages go into
detail about that conversion.. and when Dan Masters gets out of his garage and
back on the list you'll have expert advice on that subject.
