Martin,

After I sent you that last e-mail, I went out to the garage, figured 
out the thread size and set the drill press up for with the proper 
drill bit and set it for the proper depth.  As I picked up the 
caliper I though, what the h....  lets try the easy out one more 
time.  D.... if it didn't work!!!  I've cleaned out the threads now 
in the calipers with a tap and am in the process of cleaning and 
reassembling.

Thanks listers for all the assistance on the semi disaster.
