Scott,

Yep, I'm here. If you're not sure of the alternator's history, it's a 
possibility the rear plastic cap was interchanged during a previous 
rebuild (i.e. the original cap was broken and the rebuild shop used what 
was handy--it's happened). The markings you describe don't match 
anything I can quickly find for early Lucas alternators. I will continue 
digging and report back tomorrow. 

Do your wires connect by plug or threaded terminal? If so, are there any 
markings next to any of the terminals--"+", "B", "IGN"?

Let me dig a little deeper in to my Lucas info and see if I can find 
anything the comes close.
