Be *VERY* cautious in doing anything to the "kingpins". If they are bent,
straightening them out *will* weaken them further. I once broke one off while
turning a corner in my 1974 Spitfire (RIP). I also broke a trunion, but that is
a different story. The kingpin broke off cleanly without damaging the trunion
and I replaced the kingpin and reused the trunion.
