Just be sure you install the locking device correctly.

Umpteen years ago at Sunbeam Northwest II (Otter Crest, Oregon) one of the
attendees was proudly demonstrating his new steering wheel/pedal lock.
After he exited the car I reached in, turned the column adjuster, collapsed
the column and handed him his new "theft proof" device.
