Re: the Flounder's comments concerning the "no dog" rule:

I've always wanted a dog and never got one, waiting for when I retired
and could do justice to a good animal.

Now that I'm retired, I have resisted getting a dog because i thnk it
would be a problem taking it to races if allowed, or boarding it if not
allowed. I must admit that I have very mixed emotions on the subject,
since I once saw a Dobermann almost take the arm off of a little toddler
girl who wandered too close and startled the animal -- at a sports car
race. What a tragedy. It still haunts me, even though I know that was a
freak accident.

I'm kind of curious about others' opinions on the subject, but I really
don't want to start a war or anything. Vaughn Rockney refuses to race at
tracks where his dog, Einstein, is not welcome. Einstein is a small and
well behaved dog. Almost better behaved than its master.
