When my father in law died he hadn't dealt with issues left over from
when his parents died. Things were tied up in his name and their
names. Accounts, property, and assets were in names of all three,
some had multiple names on them. He had a good will, though. He just
didn't do any of the work involved in the estates of his parents. He
was the sole heir so it didn't matter much to him. He had multiple
heirs, though, and they had to sort out the mess.
