Sheesh Ed... Be nice today please:) Give him (and yes as of yet un-named)
calm directions on how to do it right while causing the least amount of
damage to parts. We all had to have instructions at some point in our
mechanical learning. I am still feeling the love ED so cut him a little
slack:)
Leo
And PLEASE no one pop in with an Ed beating thread please. Lets just help
with instructions. Ed is Ed and we all know his crankyness is not meant in
bad will

Subject: Re: [Spridgets] did a little more work on my project car today
I soaked the pistons from the top for a long time with PB blaster, and
beat the $%$&*^ out of them from the top with a block of wood and hammer
(BFH). Well they were all 4 connected to the crank but I thought if I
could get them worked loose just a little bit then I could get it to
work. With the position of the crankshaft even if I take all 4 rod caps
off, and start beating on the top of the pistons, I will still be trying
to move 3 of the 4 pistons, which would be a slight advantage but maybe
not enough.
By the time I got the pan off this afternoon I was tired and a little
frustrated, and in my home workshop I don't have a good selection of big
punches like my dad does, or I might have been able to get the piston
out from the bottom. I was hoping to get them out without damaging
them, but we might be past that now.
