Yes I did.  I had a small piece of silicone insulated wire
that is much like the silicone wire that the Pertronix uses.

I was just thinking about what the possible failure mode(s) would be.
One of the problems of putting the unit inside the cap is that it is
in close proximity to the arcing of the high voltage near the rotor.
The situation is potentially worse when using an MSD like I am.

You can see that it is physically "taller" than the Pertronix.
I wonder if they were wise to this and that extra material is more
insulation to prevent arcing to the module.
I hope so.
