just an update-I've had so many people email me about similar problems with
their speedometer.
I ruled out the cable. Even after removing the cable the needle will not zero.
after trying some tips and tricks sent, I decided to open it up. GOBS of
sticky graphite looking grease all over.
I'm in the process of cleaning it out with some mild electrical cleaner for
now. I'm amazed it even worked at all. I figure after parking it outside in
the sun a few days it softened the goop up enough and gravity did its thing.
