I finally finished the refreshing of my Sprite, it took me 4 months for
a repaint, rebuild the engine, and put new rugs in it.
Last year I did 3 Sprites in 5 months if you count the Holy Sprite which
I did have some help with. And my daughter's Bugeye which was made from
2 Sprites, literally cut in half and nothing to start with.
But I did finally finish mine, and it fought me all the way.
But now I have a fantastic sound system that I can hear at speed easily
thanks to the guys at the local stereo shop who put a similar system in
my daughter's Bugeye. No more seams along the back which now makes it
match the speedwell nose. Deluxe loop carpet installed by the guys at
the local trim shop and it even has edging where I wanted it.
And except for the low oil pressure, it's perfect in my eye.
The oil pressure was the reason for the rebuild, it was 40 psi, now it's
20, so when it blows up, I'll do it again but I must find a none asian
oil pump first, I bet the taiwan made oil pump is the reason for my low
pressure.
I did try to put a new clutch in it too but Rivergate Redneck mechanics
sent me the wrong disc so it still has the old clutch in it but it works
for now, I'll change it when the engine blows up. I just hope I can get
the summer out of it before it blows. I mean 20 psi cruising is not good.
