Borgward was the manufacturer - a German company. They made quite a few
models over the years, but the Isabella is the only one I really remember. I
think they started producing the Isabella soon after rebuilding from WWII (the
factories were pretty much destroyed by Allied bombers). Seems like they were
built up through '59 or '60. I could be wrong here, so anybody with a better
memory or knowledge step up and straighten me out. The photo you included of
the combi (wagon) version is actually way cooler than the other body styles to
me. I never really cared all that much for the coupe/sedan's styling.
