In the first place those are not H1 carbs so they never came from the
factory on a bug-i. You are kind of in a hard place because the factory
finish wasn't polished and they weren't beat out with a hammer like yours.
I'm not sure what you expected as you can get new SU's for about what you
paid to have those rebuilt. I have a set of new HS2's that I bought on sale
for $307 last year from M**S including shipping, never on a car and they do
look new, no guess on if they will work, the paperwork blames everything but
the carbs if they flood when installed. That kind of scares me what with
them being still in the box and "they know they will flood" (guess they
don't know how to adjust the float level). Let's just hope yours work better
than they look.
