Generally, it is the Facet, or something similar, that runs
constantly. Marc, if you will cut a square of rubber, and mount it
between the pump and the bulkhead, you should be able to lessen the
noise to a somewhat acceptable level.
Derf, I replaced the Facet on the 68, with an SU off of the 65 BBQ'd
Sprite. It still thumps, but about 3 or 4 pulses every 2 to 3 seconds.
What I was always curious about, is when I go to start any of my cars,
the SU will thump for 5 - 10 seconds, before it slows down and stops.
I don't see any visible leakage on the carbs (stock SU's), so where
does all the darn fuel go?
