Hello ,
Thanx to all who replied offering 3.9 rear ends for my trip to
Mo.... interestingly enough, after running some numbers i'm
not sure the conversion makes economic sense... the going rate
(as defined by sales on ebay) seems to be somewhere between
$125 and $200 not counting shipping.... now, if the change in
gearing of ~7% results in direct savings of the same amount i
could expect to save a TOTAL of about $35 to $40 over the 4000
mile trip (at $4/gal)... .. hmmmm... .....
have to justify the expense some other way.. :-)
anyone else running a 1098 with a 5 speed and a 3.9 rear end? a
3.7? how is the power as compared to the 4.22? (assuming that
you HAD a 4.22 and changed).. overall mileage? snap off the
line? freeway cruising.. .. ???
