Hi James, I use the tap method. Only instead of wiggling the tap, turn it until it bottoms out. Keep turning it will crawl up the threads of the tap. It will also help to put a small washer if possible in the hole to keep from hurting the bottom. This method has never failed me. Best of all no messy grease.
